Pastor / Headmaster
The priests of Saint Joseph's parish live together in community in a quiet house in Armada. The community residence is called a "priory". Our congregation especially requests that all its priests live in communities of three or more, in order that each may help and support the other. The priory acts as base camp, for whence the community members devote themselves to providing for the spiritual needs of any interested local Catholics, especially the faithful attending SSPX chapels.
Since the Society of Saint Pius X is an international congregation, our pastoral team is too!
Graduating from St. Joseph’s Academy in 2002, Father returns to his alma mater, to offer gratitude for what he received during his four years of formation. Since his ordination in 2009, he has spent the week days at the priory near Denver, CO while traversing the nation — being pastor of eight chapels in all during six years of apostolate. His weekend travel has come to a halt as he joyfully takes his new position at St. Joseph’s again. He teaches the 5th and 6th grade students Religion as well as the Bible History to the 5th-7th graders.
Ordained in 1983, Father comes from a Spanish family and lived both in Spain and France. Since his ordination, America has been blessed with Father’s apostolic zeal. He has been stationed at the Armada Priory for 10 years. As he continues with us, he breaks a record for his longest stay. We are honored to have his wealth of priestly experience and linguist talents (being trilingual). He teaches the 7th Grade Religion Course at the Academy and services St. Anne’s Church in Livonia, MI every weekend as well as Infant of Prague Mission in Bay City, MI twice per month.
After his ordination in 2002, Father served the faithful in South Africa for one year; in England for six years; in Canada for two years; and now he starts the fifth year in his home country of the USA. He spent his senior year of high school at St. Mary’s Academy, St. Mary’s, KS (taught by Father Pazat!). Father resided in the priory of Kansas City, MO for four years before being assigned with us this past August. We are glad to have his years of international knowledge as well as his fondness for Shakespeare. During the week, Father teaches the 6th and 7th grade students Latin and the 7th grade Geography. Father services St. Margaret Mary’s Church in Allendale, MI and Sacred Heart Church in Mancelona, MI each weekend.
